My writing practice is shifting into new territory: using creative non-fiction to meditate on the theme of mental health through the lens of my lived experience of bipolar disorder, and its convergence with magic.
Magic, Madness & the Occult is a research and book development project that aims to add nuance to the public understanding of severe and enduring mental illness. At the core of this project is a global perspective championing first hand accounts by those so often othered by society.
With thanks to Creative Scotland for funding this research & development period, & to Uma Breakdown & Belladonna Paloma for their valuable & ongoing support as I chart new waters. I'm also thrilled that one of my favourite writers & thinkers, Matthew Remski, will be mentoring me along the way. Stay tuned.
